Here is a tip that is quick cheap and easy. When removing a picture there is often a visible nail hole in the wall. Go to your bathroom and grab a bar of soap and rub it over the hole until the hole is filed with soap. You can paint right over it and it’s gone. Often with a matching soap color there is no painting required.
